Crystal counting in metal solidification experiments
The aim of this collaboration was to implement a machine learning algorithm that could count the metal crystals in the radiography videos in order to monitor their formation rate, and characterize it with respect to several experimental variables such as cooling rate.

Zoology
Counting penguins in the wild
The penguin counter is a machine learning system that can count and localize the penguins in an image taken from the time-lapse cameras. A single instance of the counter can process several images per second, dramatically speeding up the data analysis pipeline.
